Jean Pascal vs Aleksy Kuziemski: Live Streaming Online Pay Par View Fight Result, Official Update & More - 14Th,Dec!

Friday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, former champion Jean Pascal (26-2-1, 16 KO) returns to action following an 19-month layoff, and will go to battle against Polish prospect Aleksy Kuziemski (23-0, 7 KO).
Since losing a unanimous decision to Bernard Hopkins and surrendering his WBC light heavyweight belt in May of 2011, Pascal has since suffered an injury preventing him from returning to the ring and resuming his efforts to work his way back to a world title fight.
“I was thinking a lot,” Pascal told 15rounds.com about his 19- month layoff. “Friday night you are going to see a 2.0 version of Jean Pascal. I think those 24 rounds with Hopkins have made me a better person as well. I have a lot of experience, and am not a prospect anymore. I am not green, and am very mature. My goal is to capture the world title, but I have to think about Friday night; I have to think about Aleksy. I love challenges, and I will be ready to rock the world Friday night.”
Prior to the two fights with Hopkins (0-1-1), Pascal successfully defended his title four times, with his last win coming against then undefeated favorite and current WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson.
Pascal is currently scheduled to face Dawson for a second time and fight for the belt in March of next year, but he knows he can’t look past the upset-minded Kuzmienski Friday night.
“The fight against Chad Dawson does not exist in my head,” Pascal continued. “The only fight that exists is the fight Friday night the 14th against Aleksy Kuzmienski. “It is going to be a good challenge. He is the underdog, but when I fought Chad Dawson, the odds were 4-1 against me, and I beat him; so odds don’t mean anything. I know the odds are for me in this fight, but I beat Dawson when I was the undergod. I am well prepared for Friday night and am gonna do what I do best, knock people out.”
Despite staying active inside the ring within the past two years, Kuzmienski has been less than consistent, winning four of seven fights, while getting stopped in two of the three losses.
Against the heavy-handed Pascal the former Polish Olympian will need to stay busy and stay out of range to avoid the big shots. Pascal will undoubtedly be looking to make a statement in his return, especially in front of his hometown fans, and will be anxious to end the night early.
But while Pascal needs to impress to show he can come back strong following the layoff, Kuzmienski has nothing to lose. He has the opportunity to shock the world by pulling off an upset against the former champion in his own backyard, which would lessen the impact of the rematch against Dawson.
It is crucial for Pascal to go into the fight Friday night focused and intent on the mission at hand—get his ring presence in and exit the ring with a ‘W’.
Friday night will be an indication of what kind of fighter Jean Pascal will reemerge as following the layoff. Will he be hungry and unrelenting with his drive to get back to the champion stature which he once held; or will his comeback be short lived?

Brian Magee happy to face tough opening defence of his WBA title!
Brian Magee is pleased to have a tough opening defence of his WBA super-middleweight belt against Denmark's Mikkel Kessler in Herning on Saturday.Magee, 37, accepts he could have had easier opponents but is happy to face Kessler whom he describes as "one of the best fighters of the last decade".

"I could have picked an easier fight but I want to reach the highest pinnacle I can in boxing," said Magee.
"The way I see it, you want to be world champion to fight the best out there."Magee says Saturday's title defence is the biggest fight of his career and hopes he will have en even bigger fight to look forward to after facing Kessler.


The winner of Saturday's bout will be in line to fight the WBA's 'super' champion Andre Ward."Without a doubt this is the biggest fight I've had but every fight over the last five fights I've been saying that. It seems to get bigger and bigger every time."Now obviously if I win and Andre comes on, that's going to be even bigger again, so where does it stop?

"It seems to be getting bigger and better every time."Magee has recorded two victories in Denmark in recent years but Kessler says the Northern Irishman's Danish winning run will end on Saturday.

If you would have told me in 2004 that I would be fighting Juan Manuel Márquez in 2012 — and for the fourth time — well, I would not have believed it.
But here we are and for a good reason. Our previous three fights have been great; great for us and great for our fans.

Unlike my three fights against Erik Morales, which were fought closer together and at the same weight, Juan Manuel and I have battled each other at three different weight classes and always at important points in our careers. There is a certain feeling of destiny in our rivalry. It was meant to be that we would fight each other four times.

All of my fights with Márquez are important. He is a legend, perhaps the best fighter Mexico has ever produced next to Julio César Chávez. But Márquez does not define my career. My career is defined by many significant victories. World titles in eight different weight divisions and knockouts of Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Ricky Hatton mean as much to my career as my victories over Márquez.

Champions are competitors first and foremost. They want to win. They need to win. I have put everything into this training camp. I know I haven’t fought perfect fights against Márquez in the past and my incentive in this one is to fight the fight I should fight this time. If I do that I will not only win again but put away all doubts in the minds of the fans and Márquez on who is the better fighter. I want everyone to know the old Manny Pacquiao is still alive in the ring. Speed and aggression will be my main weapons and if the knockout presents itself to me I will go for it, as many times as it takes.

What does this fourth fight with Márquez mean to me? It means the chance to author the final chapter of a marvelous story and to look forward to writing a new chapter in my ring life.

There is something special about fighting the same opponent four times. It tells me that the first three fights have been good and competitive enough to merit one more fight. When it is against an elite opponent such as Manny Pacquiao then it’s even more special and more meaningful.

Over the last eight years Pacquiao and I have fought three times and all the fights have gone the distance. And while people say Pacquiao has knocked me down four times over those 36 rounds, they should say three were in the first round of our first fight, and that he has only scored one knockdown in the next 35 rounds, and none in the last 20 rounds while winning at least 26 of the 36 rounds we have fought over those three fights.

So the question for this fourth fight is, “Do I need to knock out Pacquiao to get the win?”
Well, I will certainly try. I also know that while knocking out a fighter like Pacquiao won’t be easy, it’s not impossible either.

I know that I have to be intelligent, fast and strong to beat him. But as we have seen in the first three fights, it is not just up to me to win the fights. It is up to three judges who score the fights. There is no doubt in my mind that I won all three previous fights with my skills and smarts in the ring, but the judges have denied me that victory.

There is not much I can do about the judges. I don’t pick them and I sure don’t know them. I know most have never trained for three months for a fight, most have never gotten in a ring for 12 rounds with the best fighter in the world, and most have no idea what sacrifices we must make to get in the ring and put on the best fight that we can.

I feel that most people believe that I won our last fight very clearly, but the judges did not see it that way; and by the way, I am not only talking about my fights and judges. Look at what happened to Pacquiao against Timothy Bradley. I was ringside for that fight and I felt that Pacquiao won it but the judges took it away from him and that also is not right.

I just want the judges to score the fight in the ring and not what they think is happening in the ring. I don’t care about the three previous fights and how they were scored anymore. All I ask is for a fair judgment, and if I lose, I lose. But if I win, I want my hand raised that night in the ring.

Pacquiao continues to be the best in the world and to finally get a win over him will make me very happy, but don’t judge my career by these four fights. Take a look at all my 61 fights and then decide where I belong in the history of boxing.

Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4 takes place Saturday from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

One of the classic scenarios in boxing will unfold on Saturday night: a seasoned veteran and a promising up-and-comer battle for a world title. And while many were surprised when Miguel Cotto selected a virtual unknown for his next bout, to Cotto it made perfect sense. “Austin Trout is an undefeated champion who was next in line,” he says. “I respect him for accepting the challenge.”

In many ways, these two men have much in common.  Both display admirable personal qualities, are very committed to their families, show great respect for the sport, and fight with precision and technique. Without the controversy and trash talk surrounding most bouts today, this one could seem almost boring to write about. But let’s take another approach and applaud the fact that boxers like Cotto and Trout exist today, bringing the attention back to the ring as opposed to the antics outside of it.

Miguel Cotto is one of the most respected boxers in the world, and rightly so. He has fought countless renowned fighters, including the two most elite names in the sport, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, who cites Cotto as being his toughest opponent ever. While he was clearly off the mark with Pacquiao, his stellar performance against Mayweather solidified his place as a future Hall of Famer.

A brave, determined and highly skilled fighter, Miguel Cotto certainly deserves his place among boxing’s finest. He’s multi-dimensional, using his fierce jab from the outside and masterful bodywork on the inside. Cotto is impressive as the aggressor, but he can also adapt easily to defend himself. His versatility can confuse most any opponent and give him the upper hand, especially in the early rounds. What Cotto lacks, if anything, is speed and movement.

Miguel Cotto’s skill is equally matched by his outstanding character. This was clearly illustrated when he agreed to a rematch with Antonio Margarito in 2011, who had earned a highly controversial “win” over Cotto in 2008 due to illegally plaster-packed hands. Cotto brutalized Margarito the second time around and boxing fans across the world reveled in the fact that justice had been finally served.

Cotto will enter the ring on very familiar turf this Saturday. His history at Madison Square Garden is close to legendary, and he has won the hearts of some of the toughest fans in the world—New Yorkers. There’s no doubt that fighting in Cotto’s “second home” will give him a great advantage. This is a boisterous, loud and enormous crowd that will notoriously cheer every punch that he throws. When asked if he feels pressure to perform in front of a sea of loyal fans, Cotto simply says, “No, I am just going to enjoy the moment.” On the same note, he thinks that the crowd will intimidate Trout and affect his concentration. So, the question is, with Cotto’s experience, technical ability, strength, and the fight taking place in his home away from home, does Trout even stand a chance? I believe that he does. It may be a small chance, but one nonetheless.

Austin Trout is an undefeated southpaw hailing from Las Cruces, New Mexico. He earned his WBA title via a well-deserved win over Rigoberto Alvarez in Alvarez’s hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011. He is no stranger to hostile territory, earning many of his wins outside of the United States.

Trout is a humble, likeable young man who is as much a fan of the sport as he is a fighter. In fact, he is a fan of Miguel Cotto. When asked about fighting someone who he looks up to, Trout confidently and candidly says that he has “always dreamed of fighting boxers that he admires.” On that list he includes Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones Jr. and Sugar Ray Leonard. He’s also honest to the core, stating, “I want to do things the right way, no façade, no fake, I just want to be me and have the fans embrace me as me.”

Although Trout had a tremendous amateur career and was an alternate for the 2004 Olympics, he has been virtually anonymous as a pro. “I believe the powers that be don’t want me in boxing,” he says. “I had to climb through the window to get in.” Well, the door has now opened and Trout knows that this is his golden opportunity to become a serious contender, and perhaps even a household name.

Trout is known for his defense, counterpunching, and speed. But he’ll need to up his game and become more aggressive to overcome Cotto’s power and astute command of the ring. He admits that he has never faced an opponent like Miguel Cotto and that “a totally defensive fight is not the key to victory.” But Trout has the reach and height advantage, along with speed, so if he uses his strengths wisely and can stay focused amidst the mayhem of the crowd, he has a shot. And there’s nothing in his history to suggest that he won’t be able to handle the gravity of the situation. As my dear friend and boxing aficionado T.O.N.E-z put it, he’s a “calm lion.”

To me, both of these fighters are warriors in their own unique way. Cotto has proven himself time and time again, fighting the best the boxing world has to offer. Trout has had to face an uphill battle in the sport, earning this opportunity, and virtually every opportunity, due to a great amount of determination, faith, and inner-strength.

Both fighters have the ability to bring out the best in each other Saturday night. But I believe that Cotto has much more at stake. For Austin Trout, even stepping into the ring with Miguel Cotto is a victory.

Price already has three knockout victories to his name this year and Franny Smith, who trains the British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, expects another explosive win against Skelton at the Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

"For me Wladimir Klitschko is the true heavyweight champion of the world, the one to beat. He's provided the template for success for tall heavyweights.

"Already David has certain advantages with regard to size, range and a more powerful jab. Wladimir has edges in experience and knowledge. We'll be ready in 18 months....if he's still around."

[¬] Roach says “We know how to handle Bradley”

By Chris Williams: Freddie Roach has designed what he feels is the perfect plan to send unbeaten Timothy Bradley to his first defeat on June 9th against Manny Pacquiao.

Like usual, Roach is always talking about coming up with a gem of a plan to lead his fighter to victory. Roach never really says what these plans are, but he’s always speaking about them as if he’s got a map 
to buried treasure.

Roach said to the Manila Bulletin “Manny is in a very good place. We have a big game plan and we know how to handle this guy.”

Why on earth is Roach always talking about “we”? He’s not the one that’s going in the ring to get slugged in the head by Bradley, so why is he always saying “We”? I never feel good about people that say “We” when I’m the one doing the work. It just makes me mistrustful of them. Anyway, I don’t get Roach at all. The guy always talks about his grand vision for Pacquiao. He’s always got these schemes that sounds if he’s a genius but then Pacquiao goes out there and looks as crude as a beginning novice in the ring, getting by one speed and power alone, but looking primitive. It just makes me wonder what are these so called plans that Roach is always dreaming up but I’m never seeing in action.

It just looks to me like Roach waves a red handkerchief in front of Pacquiao’s before the fight like he’s a little bull and then he sics him on his opponent. I don’t see any real strategy in Pacquiao’s fights. I just see him going straight at his opponents, trying to overwhelm them with speed and power. Sometimes it works out well for Pacquiao and other times he fails miserably, yet still wins the fight somehow. But I think Roach sounds pretentious with when he talks about having an unbeatable game plan to beat an opponent like Bradley, because I don’t see any game plan with Pacquiao’s fights other than Roach letting him loose on them.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – As Shane Mosley expressed his gratitude and excitement about fighting Saul Alvarez on Floyd Mayweather-Miguel Cotto undercard to a large group of sports media and close to 500 fans at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, an unruly lout from the back of the room yelled out:

“You’re washed up!”

It was a loud and obnoxious outburst from a mean-spirited fan, who probably lacks the guts say it to Mosley’s face.

However, the words were not necessarily untrue. More than a few of the better-behaved fans inside the historic movie theater along Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, where the final leg of the multi-city media tour for the May 5 pay-per-view event took place, share the ill-mannered buffoon’s sentiment.

Many members of the boxing press also agree that Mosley has seen better days.

Mosley (46-7-1, 39 knockouts), a former three-division titleholder who has been a pro for 19 years, is 0-2-1 in his last three bouts. The Southern Californian was dominated by Floyd Mayweather in May of 2010 and embarrassed by Manny Pacquiao last May. Between those one-sided unanimous decision losses, Mosley was held to a split draw by Sergio Mora in an uneventful 12-round bout.

So when news broke that the 40-year-old veteran would face Alvarez, an unbeaten 21-year-old junior middleweight beltholder, on the Mayweather-Cotto undercard, there was a collective groan from hardcore aficionados, who ripped the matchup on Twitter and internet boxing forums.
However, Mosley isn’t letting the harsh criticism bother him.
“I don’t care what those type of fans say,” he said following Thursday’s press conference. “They can say what they want but they have no say on who I am or what I do with my life.

“Fighting is my life. I’ve been doing this for 32 years. I love to do this. I still love to train and spar.”

Mosley says he was in the gym when the prospect of fighting Alvarez, the WBC 154-pound beltholder, was presented to him.

“I’ve been working out, just staying ready for a fight,” he said. “I wasn’t thinking about fighting anyone in particular, I wasn’t thinking about Alvarez until he was brought up. I was just staying in shape while I figured out what my next move was.

“Eric Gomez (matchmaker for Alvarez’s promoter, Golden Boy Promotions) contacted my attorney after Alvarez fought (Kermit) Cintron in November to see if I was interested.”

Of course he was.

“It was perfect,” Mosley said. “He’s got a world title and the fight is on a big pay-per-view card. If I beat him I’ll get a belt back in front of the world and I’m back in business.”

That’s a big “if” in the eyes of cynical fans who believe Mosley’s career has been going out of business since his last victory, a sensational ninth-round stoppage of Antonio Margarito in January of 2009.

Mosley doesn’t believe the naysayers are being fair – after all, his recent losses were to the top two boxers in the sport and most observers thought he beat Mora – but he won’t argue with them.

“I gave 100 percent in the ring when I fought Mayweather and Pacquiao, but I wasn’t 100 percent, I wasn’t physically at my best,” said Mosley, who would not divulge what was specifically ailing him – if anything – in both bouts.

“It doesn’t matter what was wrong with me in those fights, all that matters is that I lost. That’s all people see and that’s why I’m the underdog in this fight. But the people who know the whole story, and my fans who still believe in me, know that I can beat Alvarez.”
Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, which is putting on the HBO Pay Per View show at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, cited Mosley’s record against boxers of Mexican descent to support the theory that the “old man” is a dangerous foe for Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KOs), a budding star from Guadalajara, Mexico.  

“Shane grew up in the gyms of Southern California, where he earned the reputation for beating up Mexicans,” Schaefer said. “He knows how to fight the Mexican style. His record speaks for itself, victories against Oscar De La Hoya twice, Fernando Vargas twice, and Margarito.

“The things people are saying about him now are the same things they said before the Margarito fight and we all know what happened. A legend like Shane is never done.”

Mosley appreciates the support from his former promoter but he doesn’t view Alvarez as “just another Mexican fighter” or an easy win.

“Alvarez is a terrific young champion, and he doesn’t fight like the Mexican fighters I’ve fought,” he said. “Everyone is different in the ring, including Mexicans and Mexican Americans. Oscar didn’t fight like Vargas; Vargas didn’t fight like Margarito; Margarito didn’t fight like Mora. Nobody has the same style.”

Mosley envisions a tough fight, one that will be decided by experience, not styles.

“I spar with young guys all the time and I see the difference in experience now more than I used to,” he said. “I have a lot of respect for Alvarez, but he’s only 21. There’s still a lot that he has to learn. He’s a great talent and I think we’re going to put on a great fight, but I think my experience will be overwhelming.

“I think the people around him made a mistake making this fight. They’re thinking their fighter is going to face the Mosley who fought Mayweather and Pacquiao. They’re wrong. I’m going to be 100 percent for this fight. I’m not sure Alvarez is even thinking about me. He might be thinking about fighting Floyd, which is a young man’s mistake.

“I think they’ve all made a big mistake but we have to get in the ring and duke it out to know for sure if Golden Boy Promotions and Alvarez’s handlers messed up.”

And that’s fine with Mosley. Much of the boxing world may want him out, but he hasn’t lost any passion for fighting or the sport.

“I love what I do,” he said. “I’m going to be in boxing for as long as I live. I know I can’t continue to fight forever, but I’m not going to let any fan or anyone in the media pressure me out of my sport.

“I’m going to be boxing for a few more years, especially if I win on May 5.”
